Hide and Seek

We’ve all experienced the game of “Hide and Seek,” whether during our childhood or while playing with children. To discover the one who is hiding, we must actively search. This act of seeking is something we engage in daily, in various ways.

When we desire to grasp a particular subject or skill, we pursue understanding. It’s a natural part of life. So, why do we sometimes hesitate to trust God when He assures us that if we seek Him, we will find Him and the incredible wisdom He is eager to share with us? (Matthew 7:7; James 1:5)

It’s truly incredible when something you’ve pondered for a long time finally becomes clear, whether it’s a scripture passage or a personal struggle you’ve faced for years. It’s like a light turning on, bringing understanding and relief.  Divine revelation is truly unparalleled. When God unveils truths to us, it is a moment of awe and wonder, much like the thrill of discovering a new scientific breakthrough. This excitement is not just emotional but deeply spiritual, as it connects us to the very heart of God and His creation.

Standing at the south rim of the Grand Canyon, I felt a sense of frustration as I struggled to capture the immense beauty and majesty of the landscape before me with a camera. I shared with a stranger that it was as if I had seen God and was now attempting to describe the experience to someone else. In response, she exclaimed, “Wow! I got goosebumps when you said that!” Interestingly, at that very moment, I experienced a similar sensation, as if God was present within us both. I didn’t respond when she remarked how spiritually  connected it felt, but I wanted to know more. How could I know more?

Have you ever felt the pain of others as they experience sickness or injury? Or grieve when others are grieving? I once knew a healthy mother who prayed to take the cancer from her young daughter.  Within a year, the daughter was healed, and the mother died with the exact type of cancer.

In the realm of quantum physics, the concept of entanglement is a fascinating phenomenon. It describes how particles, once connected, can instantaneously affect each other regardless of the distance separating them. This mirrors the spiritual truth of our union with Christ. As believers, we are inextricably linked to Jesus, experiencing His life and presence within us, no matter where we are physically. The Apostle Paul captures this beautifully when he writes, “But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him” (1 Corinthians 6:17). This union transcends physical boundaries, much like entangled particles.

We’re told in Ephesians, we are seated with Christ at the right hand of God – crucified with him and raised with him.

We’re there but here… makes no sense – not so fast, just look at the science.

Another phenomenon in quantum mechanics is superposition.

The concept of superposition suggests that particles exist in multiple states until they are observed. This idea can be intriguingly paralleled with the spiritual journey, where seeking often leads to revelation. In the spiritual context, Jesus encourages seeking as a path to discovery: “Seek, and you will find” (Matthew 7:7). This reflects the idea that earnest seeking can lead to profound understanding and insight. Similarly, the Apostle Paul speaks of the mystery of Christ being revealed to those who seek Him (Ephesians 3:4-5). Just as observation brings clarity in quantum mechanics, seeking God brings revelation and understanding in the spiritual realm.

Could it be that physical reality reveals spiritual reality?

Our spiritual reality is that we are seated with Christ in the heavenly realms even as we live our daily lives on earth (Ephesians 2:6). This dual existence is not a contradiction but a profound truth that reflects the nature of our relationship with God. Just as entangled particles share a connection that defies physical separation, we share an unbreakable bond with Christ that transcends time and space. This is the essence of our spiritual identity and the source of our joy and excitement.

The revelation of our union with Christ is a testament to God’s incredible grace and love. It assures us that we are never alone, for He is always with us, guiding and empowering us. This truth is echoed in Hebrews 13:5, where God promises, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever abandon you.” Our connection with Him is as real and enduring as the most fundamental laws of physics, yet it is infinitely more profound.

In conclusion, the excitement of divine revelation, especially when paralleled with the wonders of quantum physics, deepens our understanding of our spiritual reality. It reminds us of the incredible privilege we have as children of God, united with Christ and experiencing His presence in every moment. This revelation is not just a theological concept but a living reality that transforms our lives and fills us with awe and gratitude.

The physical world is for physical creatures – a glimpse of the invisible.

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.” (Romans 1:20)

Consider that 200 years ago, our understanding of quantum physics was nonexistent, yet the principles were still at work. This invites us to wonder: what new insights and discoveries await us in the future? Just as the mysteries of the quantum world were eventually unveiled, there may be profound truths yet to be revealed in the days to come.

Do you honestly think that God of all intelligence wouldn’t give us evidence?

Seek…  seek that which is good, pure and Holy (set apart).  Seek kindness, truth, love, joy, peace, patience, self control and faith.

Seek these things in all you do – health, eating, drinking, what you watch and read, in your daily living, conversations and vocation. – you’ll be amazed what you find.
By the way- God is always seeking you.
