What sins did Jesus die for?

Well, of course you good Christians would say “ALL” of them!

Then you would turn right around and say…… but, you can’t do THAT and be saved????????

We  point our bony little judgement (sin) fingers at the scripture that warns: Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9-10).

So….where do you fall on the list? You say nowhere! Haha! Look again.

We are so quick to magnify other’s sin, you know the big ones : drunks, cheaters and homosexuals, stuff we never do or….think of. Remember, Christ raised the standard of the law. He said WHOSOEVER hates his brother is GUILTY of murder (1 John 3:15). WHOSOEVER looks upon a women with lust is GUILTY OF adultery (Matthew 5:28).  

Jesus was talking to Jews before the mystery of the “DISPENSATION OF GRACE” (The time we’re  currently in).  This was revealed to the Apostle Paul by Christ Himself  (Ephesians 3). Paul was designated by Christ to be the Apostle to the Gentiles (non Jew). This was kept hidden in the scriptures until Saul (Paul in the Greek) was converted and went into Arabia for 3 years. You will find all of this in Galatians 2 and Ephesians 3. God’s plan to usher in a time of grace for humans was revealed and we are in it. Before this time or dispensation,  Jews were under the “DIPENSATION OF LAW”, over 613 of them. They had to do to be approved, animal sacrifices and Holy Day observances.  This law was only for the Jew. The time before the cross was not even for anyone but the Jew. In this time of Grace, God has made a way for all of mankind to be reconciled. We need only to receive the gift by faith. Is it a get out of jail free card? Absolutely!

For who? All who will receive it!

Sin was breaking the law of God and still is. Humans have never stopped, hence the need for a Savior.

JESUS’DEATH ON THE CROSS PAID FOR THESE SINS. ALL OF THEM!!!!

Hebrews 10:10-12

[10] By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all . [11] And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: [12] But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God.

G…R…A…C…E. UNDERSERVED FAVOR. YOU DIDN’T DESERVE IT THEN AND YOU DONT DESERVE IT NOW.

Jesus did not die to make us better humans, He died to save us from hell, from the penalty of sin. To reconcile us back to God by being born in us, giving us His life. The spirit comes alive that we were born physically without. Being a better human is a result of Christ living in us. We are better humans because the Spirit of God has come alive in us. We become the temple of the Holy Spirit, but we still sin. Not the Spirit man, the part of us that has been made alive by Christ,  but the flesh, the body of sin that is headed for death. 

You see we Christians have one foot in the law and one in Grace. We like to say, we are forgiven for our sins and now we don’t do those vile things that others do so we are saved and these rotten drunks and liars aren’t. That is a lie (sin) from the pit of hell. There is not one human alive, saved or unsaved that doesn’t sin. If you are one that doesn’t sin, please contact me. 

We are not saved because we don’t sin, we are saved because Christ died for us while we sin (Romans 5: 8).

[8] But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

 We still sin, we’re humans born in sin, born under Adam. We had no choice in it. But, by His grace, God joined us in our humanity. Divinity joined humanity. We become divine in this walk of flesh because He has joined us. While we are in this flesh (sin), He comes in to save us from this body of sin that will die. He comes in and lives right there in you between heaven and hell and promises never to leave you. He is there, right there when your flesh sins, holding on to you. This “ YOU” is not the body, it’s the you that doesn’t sin, the “ YOU” that has been born of God and is freed from your body at death. He has sealed you with the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption (Ephesians 1:13). Oh! What a picture; God holding on to your soul like a father sheltering his child from harm. What a picture. That’s you friend, who have been washed in the blood.

We must understand that a human can not inherit or occupy presence with God (1 Corinthians 15:50). God is spirit, man is flesh. We must be spirit to enter the eternal kingdom, to live eternally as God does. God so loves us that He by grace joins the believer with His Holy Spirit. We become Spirit. We become like Christ. The Spirit of God living in the flesh.  Christ was God in sinless flesh, we are God in sinful flesh. Christ was all God and all man, as the believer now is all God and all man. It’s not all God and none of us, we don’t die to self, that’s nowhere in the scripture. We are crucified with Christ and then raised with Him at His resurrection (Colossians 2:12, Romans 6:8). He’s alive, we are alive.  Christ’s three year ministry here on earth was to show us how this works.

YOU ARE GOD IN THE FLESH.  You won’t hear that in church!

Galatians 2:20 KJV
[20] I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

You see friends, the issue is not sin, Jesus took it away (John 1:30).  The issue is have you been washed in the blood and filled with Spirit.  Sin will not keep the believer from heaven. You can’t out-sin Gods grace. Since the cross, where sin abounds, grace abounds more ( Romans 5:20). 

So is that a license to sin, no, we do fine without a license. It’s a license to eternal life.  

So, back to the question. What sins did Christ die for? All. All means all.

Will a drunk inherit the kingdom? The issue is not that he is a drunk, the issue is : is he washed in the blood?

Will one who is married to a same sex partner inherit the kingdom?

The issue is not that one is married to a same sex partner, the issue is: is he or she washed in the blood?

You see , we were all sinners, we are no different than the two mentioned above. As my wife says, we’re  all “something”. We’re all something on that list. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. So many Christians fail to read the verse following 1 Corinthians 6:9-10.

Verse 11

And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. Do you see this? You are washed, not in water, but by the Spirit of God.

We were…., dirty with sin, but have been washed, sanctified, set apart, justified, declared righteous in Gods sight, not man’s sight, but God’s sight. 

By faith in the finished work of Christ at the Cross, we have a new identity, we are no longer identified as sinners. We are children of God who sin. We have a new identity, we are new creatures (2 Corinthians 5:17). We are no longer children of Adam, we by faith are children of God (John 1:12). But as many as received Him, to them He gave power to become the sons of God, even to them that believed on His name.

Do you see the difference? The sinner will die and go to hell. The child of God who sins will be with God forever, not because of his sin or his good works or any intellectual assent but because he has been washed in the blood of Jesus Christ at Calvary………….

You are washed in the blood, sanctified, glorified, when you by faith believe in Jesus Christ and His finished work. 

All who call on the name of the Lord will be saved (Roman 10:13).
